"Teach a man to fish, and he will fish for life." A lesson in life worth the weight in gold but only if one can attain such knowledge.
In 20201, TDRP planted its first garden in the community of Nan Citron, thanks to a generous donation from collaborative partners, HOPE Seeds International. Initially, 10 families were blessed with packets of seeds to plant and grow produce for their families to eat as well as to sell at the market. Quickly, TDRP found itself being able to assist 25 more families thanks to a generous donor. As a result Cledner Joisil was hired as our lead agronomist, and nine additional staff were hired to assist in further development of the garden, maintenance, and harvesting as well as establishing personal gardens for 35 families total. Over the past year, the team has worked diligently with our SPROUT families in teaching the proper way of developing a garden, maintaining and harvesting, and earning income from its yield.
In the very near future, SPROUT will be growing again as it begins to plant more seeds of hope in the development of a second community garden in the community of Berou where TDRP headquarters will be established. TDRP is excited to expand this wildly successful program as well as create more sustainability through employment of community residents.
TDRP looks forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead. To help support our efforts to raise healthy families, simply click the "PARTNERSHIP" button below to leave a legacy to those TDRP serves!
